How we make money, in plain terms.
Some of the links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, the merchant pays us a small commission. You pay exactly the same price you would have paid otherwise — the commission comes out of the merchant’s margin, not your pocket.
What a commission does not do is change what we recommend.
Every product on this site is scored before we look at whether it carries a commission at all. The scoring method is published: cost per gram of protein, what the label discloses, protein per calorie, and what public testing registers actually say about the product. Those four things are arithmetic and public record. A commission rate is not one of them, and it is not a tiebreaker.
Some products we rank well pay us nothing. Some products that pay well score badly and are listed as such. If that ever stops being true, this page will say so.
We also do not accept payment for placement, for a score, or for a review. No manufacturer has seen a score before publication or has the ability to change one.
If you think we have got something wrong about a product, write to us and we will check it. When we are wrong we correct it and say what changed.
